Church of Saints Quirico and Giulitta
Facts and practical information
The Church of Saints Quirico and Giulitta in Tramin on the Wine Road is the parish church of the village.
The present building is the result of two distinct phases: in the 14th century, the Gothic chancel with beautiful honeycomb vaulting was built on the completion of an earlier Romanesque church with a wood-beam roof. It was replaced by the present neo-Gothic three-aisled body, designed by Franz Mayr and built in 1911. In the chancel is an extensive cycle of frescoes from the early 15th century with Stories of Saints Quirico and Giulitta. At the high altar is the altarpiece with The Madonna Appearing to Saints Quirico and Giulitta, by Martin Knoller.
