Monte Peglia

Mount Peglia is an Umbrian mountain located in the territory of the municipality of San Venanzo, belonging to a group of reliefs that separate the territory of Orvieto from the Tiber valley, in the middle segment of its course in the area of the Umbria region.
It is included in the Monte Peglia and Selva di Meana park area, with an area enclosed by the course of the Fersinone, Chiani, Faena and Calvana streams. The state-owned area is entrusted for management to the mountain community of the same name. In the northern sector of the Peglia rises the Calvana, in the southern slope rises the Faena.
Its profile is recognizable from a distance by the presence on its summit of numerous radio and television or telephone telecommunications antennas including the RAI broadcasting center inaugurated on November 1, 1953.
