Facts and practical information
The cave of San Teodoro opens 140 meters above sea level on the rocky part of Pizzo Castellaro, northern offshoot of the imposing Mount San Fratello, about 2 km southeast of the town of Acquedolci. It owes its name to the Basilian monks who took refuge in it around 1000, fleeing the iconoclastic East.
