Villa Medici del Vascello is a historic building, with an adjoining garden, in the municipality of San Giovanni in Croce and is one of the most interesting out-of-town residences in the Cremona area, the result of a series of structural metamorphoses from the 15th century to the 19th century.
It passed into the hands of various and different owners, among those who lived there the most famous is certainly Cecilia Gallerani, who is the woman Leonardo da Vinci immortalized in his portrait of the Lady with an Ermine.
As of October 2019, the villa is part of the Association of the Castles of the Duchy of Parma, Piacenza and Pontremoli, making it the first public and visitable heritage in Lombardy to have sealed the promotional union within the Castles of the Duchy between Emilia-Romagna and Lombardy.
