Chiesa Santo Stefano, Oschiri
Facts and practical information
The church of Santo Stefano is a religious building located in Oschiri, a town in northern Sardinia. Consecrated to Catholic worship, it is part of the parish of Immacolata, diocese of Ozieri. Construction of the church began in 1492 and was consecrated by the bishop of Castro Attone in 1504. Restored at the end of the last century, it has a single nave with a wooden roof.
The building is located a few kilometers from the town, in front of the so-called rock altar of St. Stephen, a small granite rock wall in which a series of triangular and quadrangular niches are carved in sequence, the dating and function of which are debated.
