The Buffalo Well is a well-cistern located in the cloister of the church of San Francesco in Grosseto.

The name was bestowed by a buffalo that, in order to escape the slaughterhouse it was destined for, entered the interior of the cloister by falling and dying in the huge hole that had been dug for the construction of the well.
