The Sailor's House is located in the municipality of Palazzolo dello Stella at 3 Via del Traghetto, on the left bank of the Stella River, opposite Precenicco Harbor Square.

The building, constructed by the firm "Ditta Geometra Giuseppe Lorenzo Pessina" of San Giorgio di Nogaro, designed by engineer Ferdinando Vicentini for use by the Opera Nazionale Balilla, was inaugurated on April 4, 1936. It is currently protected by the Soprintendenza per i Beni Architettonici e per il Paesaggio del Friuli-Venezia Giulia and is home to the Art-Port Artistic Cultural Aggregation Center, run by the association of the same name.

Building of the same name stood on the banks of the Po River in the city of Turin, but was demolished in 1961.
