Villa Sommi Picenardi, Olgiate Molgora
Facts and practical information
Villa Sommi Picenardi is an architectural complex in Olgiate Molgora consisting of a manor house with an adjoining chapel dedicated to San Galdino and dating back to 1703, a farmhouse, and a large park that opposes a complex Italian garden at the back of the villa to an English garden at the front. The villa is built around a tower from which an 18th-century layout that was profoundly remodeled in the late 19th century starts. Originally belonging to the Sala Trotti Bentivoglio family, it was bequeathed in the first half of the twentieth century to the Sommi Picenardi family, originally from Cremona, which already owned another historic villa in the town of Torre de' Picenardi.
