Facts and practical information
The church of Santa Giusta is a religious building located in Gesico, a town in southern Sardinia. Consecrated to Catholic worship, it is the seat of the parish of the same name and is part of the archdiocese of Cagliari.
The church, located in the ancient district of Gesigu Mannu, was built between 1400 and 1500. During the latest redevelopment work, a Byzantine apse was found, testifying to the presence of a preexisting structure.Inside is housed a retable by Campanian painter Giulio Adato and a 17th-century wooden crucifix, the Black Christ, belonging to the school of Nicodemus.
