Preveto, Favignana
Facts and practical information
Preveto is an Italian island belonging to the Egadi Islands archipelago in Sicily.
It is a small islet just over 200 meters off the southern coast of Favignana, easily distinguishable from two other rocks close to it, namely Galeotta and Galera, which are much smaller in size.
The islet has rocky, 2- to 4-meter-high shores and a maximum elevation of 8 meters above sea level. It is about 2.9 km from the town of Favignana, the municipality to which it belongs. There is a small beach of fine sand, which can also be reached by swimming from the coast.
The island is a nesting site of the herring gull, whose eggs hatch in the first weeks of May.
