Facts and practical information
The ruins of San Martino are the remains of an imposing abbey dating back to the 11th century and never completed. The ruins are located at the top of Mount Acuziano, which faces Mount Bruzio on which the urban agglomeration of Fara in Sabina in the province of Rieti rises. The history of the Abbey of Fara in Sabina is linked to that of the Abbey of Farfa: it was desired by St. Lawrence Siro, founder also of the Abbey of Farfa, to replace the latter, which was destroyed after years of war and devastation.
