Chiesa di Santa Rita, Brescia
Facts and practical information
The church of San Faustino in Riposo or church of Santa Rita is a church in Brescia, located in Vicolo della Torre, north of Piazza della Loggia, next to Porta Bruciata.
With its characteristic cone-shaped exterior, it was built in the 12th century as a votive shrine on the site where, by tradition, the bodies of the patron saints Faustino and Giovita had paused, "resting," during their translation. The small alley at the bottom of which the exterior of the building is visible represents one of the many, fascinating glimpses of medieval Brescia, usually little known to most and always a source of wonder at first sight.
