Facts and practical information
The Swabian Castle of Trani was built in the city of Trani in 1233, during the reign of Frederick II of Swabia; it is one of the most important and best legible of the Frederician castles, despite some transformations that have partly changed its original layout.
It was declared a National Monument by Royal Decree No. 2091 of October 27, 1936.
Since December 2014, the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities has managed it through the Museum Pole of Apulia, which became the Regional Directorate of Museums in December 2019.
