Pianto Romano, Calatafimi Segesta

The Pianto Romano shrine is a Garibaldi monument in the territory of the municipality of Calatafimi Segesta, at Pianto Romano.

The monument stands at the very top of the rise that was the scene of the battle, a few kilometers from the town of Calatafimi, and is shaped like an obelisk. It contains an ossuary where the remains of the fallen, Garibaldians, picciotti and Bourbon soldiers, and other relics are kept.
