Diabliniec, Tatra National Park
Facts and practical information
Diabliniec is a reglow peak in the western slopes of the Lejowa Valley in the Polish Western Tatras. It is the farthest east from these slopes. From Wierch Spalenisko Diabliniec is separated by quite a deep pass Kominiarskie Siodlo. Lejowy Potok flows around it from three sides: south, east and north.
Between the slopes of the Diabliniec and located opposite it Zadnia Kopka Lejowa Valley turns into the gorge zataczając an arc around the Diabliniec, while above the Diabliniec it undergoes a significant expansion. According to geologists, formerly the Diabliniec formed with Zadnią Kopka one massif, south of which was the second valley, which was a side branch of the Kościeliskiej Valley and combined with it through Przysłop Kominiarski. However, the Lejowy Potok has broken in the northern direction. In this way, the Lejowa Valley, which formerly reached only after Diabliniec, now approaches under Kominiarski Peak.
The name of the peak comes from the fact that its slopes are "devilishly steep". Diabliniec is completely forested and no hiking trail leads through it.
