Jamska Czuba, Tatra National Park
Facts and practical information
Jamska Czuba - an alpine elevation on the eastern slopes of the Chocholowska Valley in the Polish Western Tatras. It is located in the lower end of the ridge forming the northern frame of the Dudowa Valley. It is separated from Spalona Czuba, a neighboring and higher elevation of the ridge, by the Jamskie Saddle. On this pass and in its vicinity there is a clearing called Jamy from which the name of the peak was formed. The name Jamska Czuba was introduced artificially on the maps, by the highlanders it was called Kopa Gronki.
The northern, forested slopes of Jamska Czuba descend quite steeply to the lower part of the Hucianska Valley, the southern slopes to the lower part of the Dudowa Valley. On the Chocholowska Valley side steeply undercut limestone slopes form the eastern side of the Niżniej Chocholowska Gate.
