Štít nad Zeleným, Tatra National Park
Facts and practical information
Zielona Czuba - peak with a height of 2130 m a.s.l. in the Slovak High Tatras. It lies in the side ridge of the northwest from a small Jawor peak. It is located between Zielony Jaworowy, separated by a green pass and a wide Jaworzyńska, separated by a wide pass.
It is a spreading, grassy peak that is part of the domed Jawor's Wierchów, which are a milder part of the Jaworów ridge. A long ridge called the green ridge goes from Zielona Czuby towards the White Water Valley. This ridge separates the liter gully and the Equal Valley. Green Czuba towers over the Jaworkowe gully, which is flowed by Jaworkov Water, the largest tributary of the equial stream. At its foot there is also the Zielona Jaworowa Valley, in which the Zielony Jaworowy Staw is located.
No marked hiking routes lead to the peak of Zielona Czuba. Taternaries rarely visit its vertex, which is not popular. They are visited by them most often at the transition of the Jaworów ridge.
Green Czuba and the areas of the Jaworowa Valley have been used as hunting areas for centuries. The Costs of the liskers and Podhale very often hunted in these areas, so they knew them exactly.
In the past, the green Czuba was simply called green. The name of the Green Pass comes from this name. The green name probably came from the grassy slopes of Zielona Czuba.
