Castle Island
Castle Island is a peninsula in South Boston on the shore of Boston Harbor. In 1928, Castle Island was connected to the mainland by a narrow strip of land and is thus no longer an island.
Spectacle Island
The Spectacle Island Range Lights were a pair of range lights on Spectacle Island in Boston Harbor. They were established in 1897 and discontinued in 1913 after changes in the entrance channels to the harbor made them obsolete.
Lovells Island
The Lovells Island Range Lights were range lights on Lovells Island in Boston Harbor, Massachusetts. They were built in 1903 to help vessels coming into what is now called "South Channel".
Carson Beach
Carson Beach is a public beach in South Boston, Massachusetts. It has also been known as L Street Beach. It is maintained by the state's Department of Conservation and Recreation. The beach is a part of a three-mile segment of parks along the South Boston shoreline.
Revere Beach
Revere Beach is a public beach in Revere, Massachusetts, located about five miles north of downtown Boston. The beach is over three miles long.
Georges Island
Georges Island is one of the islands in the Boston Harbor, situated just over 7 miles from downtown Boston. The island has a permanent size of 39 acres, plus an intertidal zone of a further 14 acres, and rises to a height of 50 feet above sea level.
Winthrop Beach
Winthrop Beach is the main beach of Winthrop, Massachusetts. It is located along Winthrop Shore Drive, spanning the roadway. The beach begins off Crest Avenue at an area known as the "Green Bars", named for the green railings along the seawall.
