Kreuzberg Castle stands on a small rock cone above the Altenahr district of Kreuzberg. The complex is located on a triangular rock plateau, which on one side falls steeply to the Ahr, and thus belongs to the type of high castle.

Since 1820, the castle has been the residence of the von Boeselager family and thus the only inhabited castle in the Ahr Valley. The private property is - with the exception of the castle chapel - not open to the public.
