The Museum of Natural History Chemnitz has been housed in the DAStietz in Chemnitz since 2004. In addition to a collection of over 300,000 exhibits, the exhibition space on the second floor includes the Sterzeleanum, a historical cabinet, the Insectarium and changing special exhibitions. In the large atrium is the Petrified Forest, the largest plant fossil in Europe.
At the same time, the museum education offers events for children, teenagers and adults.
