Facts and practical information

The Pia Fortress, half-hidden by vegetation, is an ancient construction that stands on the highest part of the city of Ascoli Piceno, the Annunziata Hill. Perhaps as early as the Piceno-Sabine era, on this rise called the Pelasgic Hill, there was the old keep, destroyed by Gnaeus Pompey Strabo and rebuilt again in Roman times.
