The beach is located in the middle of a small inlet bordered by a cliff to the west and the hill of Sant'Elia to the east. Nearby is the eponymous Calamosca tower, built by the Spanish in the 17th century as part of the anti-Barbarian defense system of the Gulf of Cagliari.
