Facts and practical information
The so-called Norman Castle of Adrano, one of the symbols of the city of Adrano, is a tower erected under Count Roger I of Sicily in the 11th century.
The castle to which it belonged, along with the nearby and similar ones of Paternò and Motta, would be part of a Norman-era defensive system aimed at controlling the Simeto valley, full control of Catania and the passes leading to Troina, Regalbuto and Randazzo. In this view it can be related to the Saracen Bridge.
