Facts and practical information
Forte Monteratti or Forte Ratti is a military barracks in Genoa built between 1831 and 1842 by the Savoy government to defend, precisely, the "Monte Ratti" hill, located behind the Genoese neighborhoods of Marassi and Bavari, from possible sieges by the enemy who could, from there, have headed undisturbed toward the then small villages of Sturla, Albaro and San Martino, from which to aim toward the capital.
