Facts and practical information
The castle of Candia known today as Castelfiorito is located in the locality now known as Candia Canavese of Piedmont and is the 19th-century reconstruction of the ancient castle of Candia Canavese that once dominated the village.
The ancient castle was held from 1204 to 1669 by the lords of Candia and Castiglione, of the family of Gotifredo da Castiglione.
The construction does not appear homogeneous: some of it is with exposed brick, such as the tower with Ghibelline battlements, which has similar structure to the ancient tower of Castiglione Castle.
