The basilica of Santa Caterina Alessandrina is an Italian religious building located in Pedara, of which it is also the mother church. It is the seat of the parish of the same name erected canonically in 1926, part of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Catania and the XI Vicariate Countries of the Bosco Zone. Since 1996 it has been a minor basilica.
Located in the town's main square dedicated to Don Diego Pappalardo, the basilica, named after St. Catherine of Alexandria, is the town's most important monument. Many images of the church were collected from the prestigious Fratelli Alinari photographic archives in Florence and the Photo Library of the Bibliotheca Hertziana in Rome, one of the most important centers of photographic documentation of Italian art in the world.
