The church of Santa Maria degli Angeli is a confraternity in the historic center of Gallipoli. Built in the second half of the 17th century, it stands along the perimeter of the walls, facing the Island of St. Andrew. The church was entrusted in 1662 to the confraternity of the same name, made up of fishermen, farmers and artists, which organizes and owns, together with the Confraternity of the Crucifix, the Good Friday procession of the Mysteries, participating with the statue of Our Lady of Sorrows.
