Torre di Capo Rama
Facts and practical information
The Capo Rama Tower is a coastal defense tower that was part of Sicily's system of coastal towers, as a defensive system for sighting Saracen ships. Indeed, the Mediterranean coasts were plagued by Barbary corsairs, and Ottoman privateers. It is located right on the promontory that constitutes Capo Rama in the localities of "Capo Rama" and at the "Androni," on the extreme tip of the cliff, overlooking the sea, within Zone A of the Capo Rama Oriented Nature Reserve, in the province of Palermo falling within the municipal territory of Terrasini.
It can be easily reached from the Terrasini exit of the A29 Palermo-Mazara del Vallo highway.
