Church of the Holy Cross, Ploaghe
Facts and practical information
The church of Santa Croce is a place of worship located in Ploaghe, a town in the province of Sassari, on Pietro Salis Street. Consecrated to Catholic worship, it is part of the archdiocese of Sassari.
The building is located in front of the municipal house and, laterally, between the ancient "Domo de su rettore," a rectoral palace built in the 18th century, and the 15th-century church of St. Peter with which it communicates through an interior door.
The construction of the church, originally named after St. Lucy, appears to predate October 18, 1587, the day of the issuance of the bull signed by the pope, then Sixtus V, by which it was ceded to the confraternity of Santa Croce.
