Chiesa di San Salvaro, Legnago
Facts and practical information
The church of San Salvaro, only in the last few centuries incorporated by urbanization into the center of the hamlet of San Pietro di Legnago, is characterized by a three-nave structure and orientation conforming to the Romanesque style. After risking demolition, it was donated by the state property to the local community in the 19th century. The erection of the building can be dated 1117, by order of Countess Matilda of Canossa. This dating is confirmed by the style, materials and the presence of a stone inscription on the north wall.
Not to be confused with the Former Monastery of San Salvaro in the province of Padua.
