The Museo Archeologico Provinciale dell'Agro Nocerino located in Nocera Inferiore was inaugurated in 1964 to house the "Pisani" collection made up of archaeological finds from the protohistoric tombs of San Marzano sul Sarno, as well as finds from the excavations of the Directorate of Provincial Museums, which worked from 1957 onward at the necropolis in Pareti di Nocera Superiore, not far from the Hellenistic-Roman theater of Nuceria Alfaterna and some materials from a civic collection in Angri.
