Facts and practical information
The Aquila tower is a tower at the southern end of the Buonconsiglio castle in Trento, on the eastern walls. It overlooks and protects the city gate of the same name that leads to the road to Valsugana and Venice. The origin of the name is attributed to the gate's orientation toward Aquileia. It has a quadrangular plan, 9 m by 8 m, and is about 22 m high. The interior is divided into three floors, connected by a wooden spiral staircase, and on the lower floor a trapdoor opens on top of the door below.
