Carpi's Municipal Theater is located in Piazza dei Martiri, next to the Castello dei Pio.

Built in the neoclassical style by Claudio Rossi between 1857 and 1860, the theater has a columned facade with a pediment and is flanked by two gates with marble herms of Carpi characters. Inside are stucco and painted allegories by Giuseppe Ugolini, who also designed the curtain with Orpheus enchanting nature.
