Facts and practical information

The church of Santa Maria is a 12th-century house of worship in the municipal territory of Campo nell'Elba, Elba Island.

The ruins of the small Romanesque-style building, transformed over time into a goat pen, are located at a plateau between the localities of Piane del Canale and Prigioni, on the southern slopes of the Monte Capanne massif. Not far from the structure, of which the wall perimeter and apsidal curvature remain, a number of medieval burials were found, according to oral tradition.
