Castello normanno-aragonese, San Nicandro Garganico

The castle of San Nicandro Garganico is located in the historic center of the town, on what must have been a strategic logistically-military high ground in ancient times.

It has a trapezoidal base, with the sides arranged roughly according to the cardinal points: on the north side are two towers with a quadrangular base, one of which is the original one from the early period; on the south side are the two Aragonese towers with a circular base, which have their backs to the mother church.
