Fonte Sacra Su Tempiesu

Facts and practical information

The Su Tempiesu sacred spring is a Nuragic monument dating from the Bronze Age. Intended for water worship, it was built in the 2nd millennium B.C. It is presumed to have been built in the 13th century B.C. Around the 9th century BC it was buried by a landslide that destroyed the upper part and buried the rest. It was accidentally discovered in 1953 during work on the aquifer by the owners of the property. Located in the territory of the municipality of Orune, in the province of Nuoro, in central Sardinia, in the locality of sa Costa 'e Sa Binza, it can be reached from the town of Orune, skirting the cemetery on the left and following a paved road of about 5 km that leads to a reception facility, and then proceeding on foot for 800 m.
