The tower of Esino is a defensive tower dating back to the 12th century, when it was part of a more complex fortified structure, located in an elevated area northeast of Esino Superiore below the locality Sciorcasela, which served as a garrison on the ancient access roads to the settlements that gave rise to the municipalities of Esino Inferiore and Esino Superiore, which merged in 1927 to form the present municipality of Esino Lario.
