The church of Sant'Antonio Abate, also known as the church of Sant'Antonio in Cresso, is a subsidiary church of Esino Lario, part of the parish of San Vittore Martire.
Located in Esino Superiore, the church was built in the 16th century and consecrated in 1561. A century later it was renovated and again inaugurated in 1662. Inside there is a hall ending in a semipolygonal apse. There are two side chapels dating from the second half of the 17th century: the one on the right is dedicated to St. Anthony the Abbot and decorated with stuccoes framing the wooden statue of the saint and the pictorial cycle of four canvases depicting his stories, while the vault is frescoed with figures of angels; the chapel on the left, dating from 1691, is dedicated to St. Joseph and has two canvases depicting the Crucifixion and the Flight into Egypt, while the vault has a fresco of St. Joseph and the Angel.
The high altar is surmounted by a late 16th-century altarpiece depicting the Madonna and Child between St. Anthony and St. Sebastian. In the chancel are canvases, two of which show the stories of St. Anthony.
The facade and portal surmounted by a thermal window date from 1703, while the wooden chancel of the counterfacade was made in 1793.
