Forte Begato is a fortified structure included in the "New Walls" defending the city of Genoa, built on a vast plateau along the branch of the defensive wall that descended from Forte Sperone along the ridge of the Polcevera Valley.
It takes its name from the village of Begato below, a hamlet of the Genoese district of Rivarolo, on the outer side of the walls.
