San Pietro in Vincoli, or Saint Peter in Chains, is an ancient basilica located in Rome, Italy, known for its remarkable artistic treasures and historical significance. The church, dating back to the 5th century, is named after the relic of the chains that allegedly bound Saint Peter when he was imprisoned in Jerusalem. These chains are displayed under the main altar, attracting both the faithful and the curious.

The basilica's most famous attraction is undoubtedly Michelangelo's magnificent sculpture of Moses, part of the tomb of Pope Julius II. Carved between 1513 and 1515, this masterpiece is noted for its detailed depiction of the biblical figure, including the intricate curls of his beard and the horns on his head – a common artistic interpretation of the time, based on the Latin Vulgate Bible's description of Moses.
