Gesiùn, Zimone
Facts and practical information
Gesiùn is the Piedmontese name by which a sacred building, of which only ruins now remain, located in the town of Piverone, in the locality of Torrone. The ruins stand completely isolated at the intersection of two country lanes in the midst of vineyards and cultivated fields. Because of its architectural features, the Gesiùn represents one of the most singular, and even anomalous, testimonies of Romanesque architecture in the Canavese and certainly one of the most striking points of the Canavese section of the Via Francigena.
