Facts and practical information

The Tassoni hut is located in the municipality of Fanano, in the Ospitale Valley, along the road leading to the Croce Arcana pass. It was built in 1962 on the initiative of Count Giuseppe Forni by enlarging and renovating a building constructed in 1930 by the State Forestry Corps on the site where a sheepfold owned by a certain Giovanni Tassoni had previously stood, as recorded in a deed dated 1870.

The hut is located along the Via Romea nonantolana, a few kilometers upstream from the town of Ospitale. It serves as a shelter and a base for hiking in the Modena area of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines.
