The church of San Frediano is a 12th-century house of worship in the municipal territory of Marciana, Elba Island.
It is a small Romanesque-style building, the ruins of which are located near Il Troppolo, in the massif of Monte Capanne. It is the church located at the highest altitude on the island. Of the structure, transformed over time into a goat pen, the wall perimeter and apsidal curvature remain. It is in direct visual relationship with the church of St. Bartholomew.
The dedication to St. Frediano, protector of agriculture, was likely due to the ancient March wheat crops on the plateau on which the church was built.
