Abbazia di San Giuliano, Genoa
Facts and practical information
The Abbey of San Giuliano is a Catholic place of worship located in the Albaro neighborhood on the Lombardo waterfront in the municipality of Genoa in the metropolitan city of Genoa.
Until the early twentieth century, when the coastal road had not yet been opened, it appeared in a dominant position on the rocks and could only be reached from the top of the hill along narrow crêuze between the patrician villas that stood numerous there. The poet Guido Gozzano, who used to frequent the nearby San Giuliano hotel, better known as "La Marinetta," dedicated a poem to the abbey.
