The Farnese Palace in Gradoli is one of the most impressive palace-fortresses of the Farnese family scattered throughout Italy.
The imposing 16th-century building dominates the town of Gradoli. The architectural design is attributed to Antonio da Sangallo the Younger, commissioned by Pope Paul III of the House of Farnese.
The palace, preserves sumptuous frescoed rooms and houses inside the Farnese Costume Museum: a collection of Renaissance clothing, weapons and utensils. The National Center for Farnese Family Studies is located in the same building.
