Rifugio Bindesi - Pino Prati, Trento
Facts and practical information
Bindesi Refuge - "Pino Prati" is a refuge located in the municipality of Trento in the Venetian Prealps.
Built in 1962 by the SAT Grotta di Villazzano group, it was dedicated to Pino Prati, a Trentino mountaineer and author of the first guidebook of the Brenta Group, who perished with Giuseppe Bianchi in 1927 on Campanile Basso.
It is located in a panoramic position on the western slopes of Marzola near the Bindesi rock gym, a "historic" gym frequented since the 1920s-30s by Trento mountaineers. For many people of Trento, the Bindesi, from which one can embrace the entire city of Trento and its mountains at a glance, are synonymous with mountaineering baptism; many mountaineers began climbing right here: on the "Mariota," the "Onta," the "Sdramele."
