Cardiff city centre
Cardiff City Centre is the city centre and central business district of Cardiff, Wales. The area is tightly bound by the River Taff to the west, the Civic Centre to the north and railway lines and two railway stations – Central and Queen Street – to the south and east respectively. Cardiff became a city in 1905.
Roath
Roath is a district and community to the north-east of the city centre of Cardiff, capital of Wales. There is no community council for the area which is mostly covered by the Plasnewydd electoral ward, and stretches from Adamsdown in the south to Roath Park in the north.
The Hayes
The Hayes is a commercial area in the southern city centre of the Welsh capital, Cardiff. Centred on the road of that name leading south towards the east end of the city centre, the area is mostly pedestrianised and is the location of the Hayes Island Snack Bar.
Adamsdown
Adamsdown is an inner city area and community in the south of Cardiff, the capital city of Wales. Adamsdown is generally located between Newport Road, to the north and the mainline railway to the south.
Tiger Bay
Tiger Bay was the local name for an area of Cardiff which covered Butetown and Cardiff Docks. Following the building of the Cardiff Barrage, which dams the tidal rivers, Ely and Taff, to create a body of water, it is referred to as Cardiff Bay.
Pwll-coch
Pwll-coch was formerly a hamlet in the parish of Llandaff near Cardiff, and is now part of the district of Canton. It was located on the junction of Windway Road and the main road from Cardiff to Ely, a short distance from Ely Bridge.
Morganstown
Morganstown is a part of the community of Radyr and Morganstown in the north of Cardiff, just over 5 miles northwest of Cardiff city centre and separated from Radyr to the south by the M4 motorway.
Coryton
Coryton is a district of Cardiff, the capital city of Wales, lying immediately to the north of Whitchurch next to junction 32 of the M4 motorway. It is within the Whitchurch & Tongwynlais electoral ward.
Rhydlafar
Rhydlafar is a small settlement in Wales located on the outskirts of Cardiff being around 5 miles west of the city centre and 5 miles south-east of Llantrisant. The village falls within the community and ward of Creigiau & St Fagans.
Pentrebane

St Mellons
St Mellons is a district and suburb of southeastern Cardiff, the capital city of Wales. Prior to 1996 St Mellons was the name given to the community largely north of Newport Road which included the old St Mellons village.

Castle Quarter is an independent retail destination area in the north of the city centre of Cardiff, Wales. Castle is also a community of Cardiff.
Mermaid Quay
Mermaid Quay is a waterfront shopping and leisure district in the Cardiff Bay area of Cardiff, Wales. The 14,000 m² development was opened in 1999, and includes restaurants, bars, cafes and shops.
Atlantic Wharf
Atlantic Wharf is a southern area of the city of Cardiff, Wales. It is primarily an area of new houses and apartments located on the west side of the disused Bute East Dock and to the east of Lloyd George Avenue.
Mynachdy
Mynachdy is a district of the city of Cardiff, Wales. Mynachdy is situated between Gabalfa, Birchgrove and Cathays. Mynachdy is often paired with neighbouring Gabalfa, and shares its councillors. It is close to a few universities such as Cardiff University and the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, as well as student accommodation.
Cardiff International Sports Village
Cardiff International Sports Village is located in Cardiff Bay in the city of Cardiff, Wales. It is one of the largest regeneration projects currently in the UK and is a public-private funded project. The site currently has a 50-metre Olympic standard swimming pool, an ice rink and a white water canoeing and kayaking centre.
Maindy
Maindy is a district of the city of Cardiff, Wales. Its boundaries are not formally recognised by Cardiff Council, and the district falls within the Cathays ward and Gabalfa. A notable facility in the area is the Maindy Centre consisting of a cycle track and swimming pool.
Leckwith
Leckwith is an area in the west of Cardiff that includes parts of the communities of Canton and Grangetown.
