Oratorio del Rosario
Facts and practical information
The Rosary Oratory is a Catholic place of worship located in the historic center of Seneghe, on Corso Umberto, adjacent to the parish church of Santa Maria Immacolata. It is home to the confraternity of the same name.
The oratory was built beginning in 1647, using local stone. The gabled and ashlar facade has side pilasters and an architraved portal surmounted by a round arch. On the rear left side stands the small bell tower, a square tower about ten meters high. Renovations were carried out during the nineteenth century during which the replacement of the altar with the marble one still present took place.
The oratory preserves a painting, executed on the vault, by Ligurian painter Giovanni Dancardi, who worked in Sassari during the second half of the 19th century.
