Rifugio del Montanaro
Facts and practical information
Opened on September 22, 1963, and renovated in 2001, the Montanaro refuge is located at Poggio dei Malandrini, within the Teso Forest. The refuge is about a 2-hour walk from the towns of Maresca and Gavinana, and an hour from Monte Gennaio and the Fonte dell'uccelliera, about two hours from Corno alle Scale, taking the Sentiero Italia, and two and a half hours from Lake Scaffaiolo.
The hut is equipped with Photovoltaic Modules for autonomous production of Electricity, 12 beds and always open bivouac. There is also a large panoramic terrace with seating outside.
